Dear Members,
We wanted to provide you with a brief update on the status of our ongoing efforts to secure a future home for the club.
Can I please ask that you keep this update within the club so that we don’t cause any misunderstandings with any external stakeholders.
As it stands, there are still only two recognised and viable options for
a long-term home for the club. Boscombe Sports Ground and Holders Road Playing Fields. We will of course continue to be open to new opportunities should they arise.
We have made some important breakthroughs resulting in meetings
involving all key stakeholders, including representatives from Wiltshire Council (WC), the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), Sport England, the RFU, and Amesbury Town Council (ATC).
These meetings have allowed us to present our case for the club and highlight the broader challenges facing sports facilities in Amesbury.
They’ve also helped increase accountability among stakeholders by ensuring they are working together toward a solution.
Neither of the two options is guaranteed. Both come with their own set of complex challenges to making them work for us.
We have explored the pros and cons to each, and it is recognised compromises will be needed by all parties involved in order for any solutions to be found. None the less, both options remain viable, and
we are actively pursuing both of them.
