Here’s a quick round-up of the key areas we’ve been focusing on at the club:

Staying Connected

We understand not having a clubhouse presents a real challenge in bringing people together. That means finding new ways to stay connected, support each other, and create the club atmosphere we all want, whatever team or role we play.

Club-Wide Calendar

We’ve launched a new online calendar that anyone can access via the club website.

The intention is to populate it with all the club fixtures, events, and key dates like international matches. It’s a one-stop shop to stay up to date.

Its a great idea and will make a big difference but it will only work if someone is prepared to ensure it is kept up to date on fixture changes, event dates etc. – so if you’re organised and happy to support, let us know!

Members App – One Club, One Platform

Right now, different teams and groups use different ways to stay in touch – which works to a degree but also leads to silos.

The aim is a single platform for updates, news, events, and team-specific messages – helping us feel more connected as one club.

We will begin rolling out the app as memberships get renewed. More details on the app take a look at the following information

New Club Sponsor...

and a New Place to bring the club together more.

We’re excited to share some fantastic news with all members, players, families and friends of the club:

Lorenzo & Charlie, Co-owners of the Kings Arms in Amesbury, are our newest club Sponsor.

They have stepped forward to sponsor us plus also offering us something we’ve been missing – a dedicated space to bring our club together.

Lorenzo & Charlie, who also run other successful pubs, have big plans to breathe new life into the pub, turning it into a family-friendly venue.

As part of his sponsorship, Lorenzo has generously invited Amesbury Rugby Club to make the Kings Arms our home and the use of the function room as a clubhouse.

That brings:

  • A place to gather after matches with post-match food provided for the players.

  • A space to host club socials, meetings, and events.

  • A central spot to watch rugby together – from Premiership to Internationals via multiple 75” screens.

  • A club presence in the town, with a function room decorated with our own club memorabilia on the walls to make it feel like our very own clubroom.

It all combines to give us the feel of having our own clubhouse right in the heart of town.

We are hugely grateful to Lorenzo & Charlie for their generosity and belief in what this club stands for.” Daz Rogers, Club Chairman.

This is a massive step forward for the club while we continue our journey toward a permanent home at Boscombe Sports Ground – a chance to build new memories and connections in a shared space.

All it needs now is for us to make use of it. Our Sponsor wants to see us ALL using the space either to drop in for a beer and bar snack or to use it after games for post-match hospitality. This is not to be left to others to do. We ALL need to make the effort to be seen as often as we can.

Clearer Policies & AGM Process

We’ve updated key policies around membership, fundraising and sponsorship, so they’re fair and transparent across all club sections. These will be shared with members post AGM through the new members app.

We’ve also reviewed our AGM process, with clearer steps now available on the website, including a process map. We’ll be proposing some rule changes too, to make key dates and procedures easier for everyone to understand.

HAVE YOU GOT FAMILY THAT WANT TO VISIT AND STAY LOCALLY OVER CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR? One of our club sponsors Jo , owner of Fairlawn House, is offering club members and families special rates! I'm told they are cheaper than anywhere else locally.
