“Rugby is why we exist — people are how we succeed.”
touch rugby
We’re excited to introduce Touch Rugby as a new way to get involved in the club.
It’s a simple idea: keep everything people enjoy about rugby—running, passing, teamwork—and remove the contact. The result is a fast, social, and accessible version of the game that opens the door to a much wider group of people.
Touch Rugby is ideal if you like the idea of rugby but not the physical side, if you enjoy being active without the risk of heavy contact, or if you’re looking for a relaxed, mixed environment where men and women play together. It’s also a natural fit for footballers and other sports players who enjoy movement, space, and quick decision-making.
Whether you’re completely new to rugby, returning to sport, or just looking for something different over the summer months, this is a great place to start.
If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, take a look through the details below—or use the enquiry form to get in touch and find out more.

What is Touch Rugby
Touch Rugby is a simplified, non-contact version of rugby. It removes the complex and physical elements like scrums, lineouts, rucks, mauls, and tackles, replacing them with a light “touch”.
The game focuses on space, movement, speed, and quick passing, making it easy to pick up and enjoyable from the first session. It’s typically played with fewer players, in mixed teams, and in shorter halves—so games are fast, engaging, and accessible for all abilities.
At its core, Touch Rugby is about staying active, playing as a team, and enjoying the game without the physical collisions of traditional rugby.
Where & When
Touch Rugby takes place on Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm at the club on Centenary Park.
Sessions are relaxed, welcoming, and open to anyone who wants to get involved—whether you’re coming on your own or with friends. Just turn up, get moving, and join in.

Who can play?
We’re initially offering Touch Rugby to anyone aged 16+, male and female, with mixed sessions as standard.
You don’t need any rugby experience to get started. The rules are simple, and we’ll guide you through everything so you can get involved comfortably from your first session.
Touch is a fast, flowing game, so a basic level of fitness helps—but you don’t need to be super fit to join. Players of all speeds and abilities take part, and that mix is part of what makes the game enjoyable. If anything, it’s a great way to build your aerobic fitness while playing in a supportive, social environment.
