Membership

Updated: Mar 15

We have been asked a few times about how we arrive at the cost of membership and what do we get for the fee.

We also seem to face a challenge with some players not paying their membership so we want to explain how it works and encourage all players to contribute their fee as do the majority of other players.

What is membership?

Amesbury Rugby Club is a membership based club. To join the club you are required to pay a membership fee. If you do not pay a membership fee then you are not considered to be a member. If you are not a paid up member then we can refuse you the opportunity to play rugby at the club.

What does membership pay for?

The cost of the annual player membership is based on the spread of the annual running cots (referees/rent/day to day training equipment/club promotion through local events and social media) across the projected number of paid up members.

Membership does not take in to account income from sponsorship because it can not be guarenteed. The club needs to ensure it can cover its own costs from membership income and from there it can use any additional sponsorship and grants to invest in additional facilities and future development plans.
